Following the recent passage of three bills related to the Air and Space Administration at the plenary session of the National Assembly, the government is promoting the establishment of the Korea Air and Space Administration (KASA) as an important step.



This roadmap, which began in line with President Yun Seok-heung's vision for the future of space economy, announced in November 2022, led to a dedicated task force composition.



The Ministry of Science and Technology, along with the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, confirmed the follow-up to officially launch the Korean Air and Air Administration in May. This development is part of Korea's desire to join the Spacecraft Alliance.



Korea Aeronautics and Space Administration (KASA) plans to contribute to Korea's economic and technological development. The government has set a goal to foster more than 2000 innovative aerospace companies to achieve 10% (420 trillion won ).



Focused on creative ideas and technical support, the plan aims to create about 500,000 jobs and expand government investment in the aerospace sector.



In line with the launch of KASA, the Ministry of Science and Technology has set a goal to secure 10% of the world's space operations market by 2045. Minister of Science Lee Jong-ho emphasized the potential for KASA to act as a catalyst for Korea's economic growth. , Toward the country's moon and Mars exploration ambitions.



With the recent passage of special laws at the National Assembly, the Air and Space Administration (KASA) was established, which was tasked with establishing air space policies under the Ministry of Science and Technology, fostering related industries, and promoting international cooperation. Headquarters will be located in Sichuan, Gyeongnam.



The plan is expected to be a key driver of revitalizing the aerospace industry, revitalizing the Korean economy, and achieving milestones such as landing in the 2032 moon and exploration of Mars in 2045 for the 100th anniversary of Gwangbok.



Fostering innovative aerospace cycles that contribute to the national economy based on creative ideas and skills is also an ambitious goal. The immediate planning after launch includes cooperation with NASA, JAXA, and other major space research institutions, and efforts to cooperate with countries that have signed an MOU in the aerospace sector with Korea, including the Arab Emirates (UAE).
